Wow, Summer has flown by!  A big update is coming to my portfolio soon… until then check out some pics from a trip to the great place on Earth in Ohio!

Web design, for me, was actually the gateway into graphics design. I taught myself HTML when I was thirteen. I was so intrigued after my family got a dial-up internet connection, I got every web design basics book on the shelves at the local library. I created my first website professionally when I was fifteen and haven’t stopped since. My favorite part of web design is user interface. Simplicity and innovation are my best friend’s when it comes to designing web sites. I am always keeping up on new coding languages to understand how they work so my designs streamline into coding.

Texture is one of my favorite parts of design. I love to see things messed up (in the aspect of design only). When I first learned how to use Photoshop, I was a texture freak and my designs were so bad because of it. After a few really bad designs I realized that it’s not about texture, it’s about balance. For example, when you stand in front of a painting, usually you can’t see the texture until you get close. The same thing should apply in design. I strive to make things look realistic, I want to make it seem like you could feel my design if you were to touch it.

My favorite color is brown. I am not sure how or why it happened because as a child I distinctly remember thinking it was the ugliest color ever. In a way, I still kind of do. Favorite colors must be like taste buds, for example, you grow up hating cottage cheese and when your older it’s your favorite late night treat (I am still waiting for that day, if it can happen with brown, it can happen with cottage cheese.).
